Michael began water polo as scrawny school boy at Blackfriars in the 1980's spotted by the ever alert Jon Harmer. Very quickly he progressed to represent South Australia at junior level Australian championships. He played A grade for many years where his defensive strength, pound for pound, was unchallenged. Michael returned to water polo in the early 2000's playing B grade with his son Cameron. During his time in the sport Michael has always been a strong, reliable, fair and dedicated team player and since the early 2000’s a club sponsor and a very loyal and active committee member. He has strongly supported junior development and conducted training sessions when called upon. His ongoing commitment and generous nature has lead to a strong bond between the senior members of the club that has seen unprecedented numbers of B grade players continuing to participate.
